Nurse Unit Manager Position

This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients have a great experience during their care. As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead a supportive team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About Us

We are located in the north west of Melbourne and provide a range of services to our community. Our specialties include orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Emergency department team.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management of the unit.
  • Coordinate evidence-based delivery of nursing care.
  • Deliver excellent patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment.
  • Guide, mentor, and support your team.
  • Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively.
  • Undertake direct patient care when required.
  • Comply with national standards.
  • Hold current registration with AHPRA.
  • Have a Working with Children check.
  • Prior experience at NUM level or equivalent is essential.
  • A postgraduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting are desirable.
  • A commitment to developing in a management role is necessary.
  • Demonstrated HR management experience is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge base in labour management is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • A high standard of clinical and customer-focussed care is expected.
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various databases is required.
