About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join our Conditions and Wellbeing team at the National Emergency Management Agency in Canberra, ACT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business plans and risk treatment strategies to ensure alignment with organisational direction.
  • Lead and manage staff to deliver section objectives and services, including developing forward work plans, setting priorities, and allocating resources.
  • Monitor and measure performance of section outcomes and benefits, and provide high-level support to senior executive officers within the agency.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and external parties on relevant issues, and coach and mentor staff development opportunities.
  • Manage the section's budget, develop written material, and lead the implementation of processes to measure development and effectiveness of training initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in HR with a background in industrial relations and policy development.
  • Experience working with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with experience implementing strategic HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, senior leadership, and stakeholders in a client-focused environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related discipline (preferred).
Benefits

This is a designated security-assessed position, and the successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance. The salary for this role is approximately $180,000 per annum, based on Australian government salary scales for an EL2 position.
