About Genus Infrastructure

Genus Infrastructure is a leading provider of end-to-end services for power and communications infrastructure to customers in the resources, power, utilities, and communications sectors across Australia.

We have entered into a Joint Venture with Acciona to deliver the Humelink Project in Sydney, NSW. The Humelink Project is a new 500kV transmission line that will connect Wagga Wagga, Bannaby, and Maragle.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Sydney to contribute to the Hume Link East project. The Project Engineer at Hume Link East will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the construction of renewable infrastructure projects.
  • Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components, or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money, and best practice are achieved.
  • Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model.
  • Liaise and oversee subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers' work in accordance with contract requirements ensuring high performance in terms of time, cost, and quality.
  • Proactively manage any community and environmental issues and effective liaison with affected external stakeholders.
  • Prepare project status reports and change orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or related roles, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery, including managing budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
