Account Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Account Director to join our team. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing key customer relationships, ensuring service delivery excellence, financial management, and growth across the account.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage service delivery to meet contracted commitments
  • Work closely with managers, team leaders, and technical staff to ensure service objectives are met
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of Service Operations standards and practices
Sales Engagement:
  • Engage with the customer to identify project and service opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with the customer to understand their requirements and business drivers
Client Management:
  • Manage the client relationship to position us as the preferred solution provider
  • Assist the client in adopting and implementing new approaches and practices
  • Anticipate and assess issues, risks, and opportunities facing the company and apply effective solutions
Contract Management:
  • Manage services within the scope of the contract and negotiate variations as required
  • Define requirements for new services and introduce them professionally
  • Adopt and implement new approaches and practices to meet changing circumstances
Financial Management:
  • Manage service risks, control costs, and improve productivity to increase profitability and cost effectiveness
  • Meet profitability targets for the contract

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven senior experience (10 years) in leadership or management roles in an IT managed services or IT focused service delivery environment
  • Significant experience in leading, managing, and progressing technical or diverse operational teams
  • Commercial/P&L management experience
  • Proven track record in managing customer escalations
  • Experience in contract management, preferably managed services contracts
  • Good understanding of the sales process (lead identification, qualification, and closure)
  • Ability to engage with technical and managerial staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated high-level relationship management skills
  • Ability to present compelling proposals and influence continuous improvement
