We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for maintaining and repairing generators, as well as providing technical support to the Depot Manager and other staff. This includes carrying out daily workshop and field service activities, such as attending to after-hours enquiries.

  • Strong communication links must be maintained with internal and external clients.
  • Delivery items must be coordinated to arrive at the relevant site/store on schedule.
  • Effective relationships must be developed at multiple levels with suppliers, customers, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
  • After-hours enquiries/on call duties must be responded to courteously and promptly, with issues resolved or forwarded to a relevant person appropriately.
  • Branch systems must be understood and followed effectively.
  • Participation in the development of and training in new policies & procedures must be positive & supportive.
  • Policies and procedures must be followed as required.
  • Areas for improvement must be identified and raised with management as appropriate.
  • Generators must be repaired and serviced on premises and client sites to meet standards.
  • Modifications of generators must be completed to meet standards.
  • Issues and problems with generators must be identified, diagnosed, and resolved.
  • A commitment to Company Health & Safety System, policies, procedures, and protocols must be demonstrated.
  • Timely and accurate information must be provided, and costs managed effectively.

  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with generator maintenance and repair.
