Calves and Livestock Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled Calves and Livestock Specialist to join our dairy operation in Victoria, Australia.

As a Calves and Livestock Specialist, you will be responsible for the daily care and husbandry of our calves and youngstock, ensuring their health and well-being. This includes feeding, bedding, mucking out, cleaning equipment, vaccinating, and coordinating the sale of surplus calves.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent stockmanship skills, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare. You will also possess good communication skills, initiative, and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision.

The role offers a competitive salary package, including base pay starting at $32.00 per hour based on a 40-hour week, fortnightly pay into a nominated account, and access to modern farming practices and technologies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • • Ensure all activities related to calf rearing and welfare are carried out to the highest standards.

  • • Provide high levels of stockmanship with a strong emphasis on animal welfare.
  • • Identify sick animals and ensure prompt treatment.
  • • Maintain accurate records, such as colostrum management, medicine usage, and calf health.
