Support Assistant Wanted

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference every day in our organization. As a Support Assistant, you will play an important part in our Guide and Assistance Dog Services team.

We are the most experienced provider of vision services in Australia, with over 139 years of experience. Our diverse range of services helps people with blindness or low vision to create a new future.

The Opportunity

You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Guide and Assistance Dog Services team by arranging volunteer induction, providing ongoing support, and ensuring volunteer records and other compliance needs are maintained.

  • Administrative and data entry tasks.
  • Invoicing for service provision, equipment, medicine, and food as required.
  • Organisation and follow up on Dog's veterinary care including vaccines and worming.
  • Completion of documentation on withdrawn dogs.
  • Respond to all general enquiries on assistance dogs (OPK9, Autism).
  • Arrange emergency boarding as required.
  • Stock Management.

Your Skills and Expertise

You will have the ability to:

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced office environment with dogs present at all times.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to persons of all ages.
  • Strong computer skills and data entry abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong personal organisational, planning, and prioritising skills.
