Job Opportunity for Dietitian - Casual

The role of a casual dietitian is to provide direct nutrition and dietetic services to patients, clients, and carers in a hospital setting. This position requires all practice to align with the Dietitians Australia Professional Standards, Code of Conduct, and relevant policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual or group level nutrition and dietetic services to patients and carers in a hospital setting.
  • Coordinate special dietary requirements for patients to ensure their nutritional needs are met.
  • Consult and support medical, nursing, catering, and allied health professionals to promote optimal patient care.
  • Develop and review dietary education resources to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Supervise, instruct, and assess dietetic students in clinical teaching programs to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Dietetics and full membership with Dietitians Australia.
  • Current Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status to demonstrate professional competence.
  • Ability to apply evidence-based practice and dietetic knowledge effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.
