The Director, Government Technology Platforms leads the Government Technology branch within the Digital Platforms Division.
This role is responsible for a portfolio of platforms that enable the delivery of government services across the Department and the broader Public Service.

We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses.
We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
The Digital Platforms DivisionThe Digital Platforms division is responsible for management of citizen, Government and government technology platforms within DGS, Service Victoria technology oversight, solution architecture, cloud dev ops engineering and platform service management.
About the roleThis role is responsible for overseeing software development, service management, and platform operations including financial and HR systems, digital integration services, briefing and correspondence tools, and emerging Centres of Excellence.
The Director will lead cross-functional teams to deliver digital services that are user-centric, innovative, resilient, and aligned with community expectations and government priorities.
This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for setting the branch's vision, driving transformation, fostering platform innovation, and building capability.
You will mentor and support managers, promote collaboration, and deliver internal platforms that improve service delivery and enable cost recovery or revenue generation where appropriate.
About youWe are looking for someone with:
- Knowledge: Experience of providing strategic leadership and vision at a business unit or branch level in the development and delivery of digital platforms and services, with a focus on innovation, viability, customer experience, and revenue generation.
- Technology Ownership and Expertise: Experience serving as the accountable technology owner of digital systems across strategic development and operations. Deep understanding of ICT infrastructure, architecture, and security principles.
- People and Change Management: Ability to drive positive culture within organisations, empowering managerial staff to help their teams embrace creativity, innovation, and agility in their work.
- Software Delivery and Service Management: Recent experience in delivering best practice ICT services either as a software implementation or a service delivery leader across a range of services.
- Executive Sponsorship and Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrable experience of functioning as an executive sponsor for digital process innovation, embedding best practice methodologies, and driving a culture of pragmatism and learning.
A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification in the digital/technological field is highly desirable.
