The role of an Education Leader is crucial in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the education sector.
As an integral member of the school community, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring teachers to improve their skill, knowledge and effectiveness in teaching.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Developing and implementing high-impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs
- Mentoring and coaching teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth
Selection criteria will focus on the candidate's ability to:
Criteria 1: Expertise in Curriculum KnowledgeDemonstrate expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching practice, including the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills across the curriculum.
Criteria 2: High-Impact Teaching StrategiesImplement and model high-impact teaching strategies that support teachers to evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
Criteria 3: Student Learning Monitoring and AssessmentExemplify the ability to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
Criteria 4: Interpersonal and Communication SkillsDisplay interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the broader school community.
Criteria 5: Department Values and Professional LearningModel behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values and support others to reflect on their practice and facilitate professional learning.
