About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Water Networks Planning Engineer to join our National Asset Management and Planning team in Australia. As a Senior/Associate Water Networks Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking the technical assessment of water supply and sewerage networks to address drivers such as growth, compliance, network performance improvement, and renewals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and undertake key technical tasks across a broad range of high-profile water infrastructure projects.
  2. Lead and/or assist in client and stakeholder workshops.
  3. Prepare well-written technical reports and proposals on medium to large projects.
  4. Supervise and coordinate project team members to achieve project outcomes and meet client objectives and expectations.
  5. Participate in industry associations.
  6. Comply with all roles-specific SHEQ obligations.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading the delivery of efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to our public and private sector clients. You will have experience and/or qualifications in:

  1. Providing technical expertise across a broad range of projects.
  2. Planning of water supply and sewerage networks and an understanding of their operation.
  3. Preparing and delivering effective and engaging presentations and workshops.
  4. Leading project scoping or proposal development.
  5. Developing and maintaining client relationships and business development.
  6. Developing skills to identify risk in medium/large profile projects.
  7. Understanding and implementation of hydraulic principles, including some experience in hydraulic modeling.
  8. Analytics techniques and use of decision support methodologies such as MCA, risk assessments, opportunities and constraints, costs and benefits, etc.
  9. The use of GIS and Excel to interrogate and assess data.
  10. Preparation of reports and maps.
  11. Proven local experience in water engineering, and previous experience in a consultancy environment highly desirable.
  12. Proven experience in delivering the best client outcomes/options that have saved the client cost/time.
  13. Experience in managing risk on large projects.
  14. Knowledge of project management, including managing the scope of multiple projects and leading resources.
  15. Recognized Bachelor's Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent.
  16. Chartered status CPENG an advantage.
