Job Overview

The Role:

Newcastle Anglican is a faith-based organisation committed to establishing and upholding cost-effective, innovative, and well-governed digital information and communications technology (ICT) systems. Our key focus is on implementing processes that continually enhance the safety, quality, and accessibility of our services.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the stability, security, and reliability of our digital services.

  • Participating in long- and medium-term decisions concerning the organisation's IT strategy and direction.
  • Managing the operational and capital expenditures within budget.
  • Accountable for all technical tasks undertaken by the IT Infrastructure & Security team including designing, building, deploying, evaluating, and maintaining IT infrastructure and security.
  • Reporting on the progress of operational issues to senior management, end users, and stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the proactive promotion of technology and security awareness and competence across Newcastle Anglican.
  • Managing, maintaining, and monitoring all aspects of Newcastle Anglican's IT systems, ensuring they are stable, resilient, secure, and comply with relevant technical and industry standards.
  • Designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of technology solutions.
  • Managing 3rd party IT suppliers as required.
Requirements

We are looking for an experienced IT professional with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, information technology, or a similar field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the field.
  • In-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies preferably in the Aged Care, NDIS, community services, and education sectors.
  • Specialised IT management competencies in IT infrastructure, networks, cloud computing, and architecture.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organisation.
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • People management and leadership skills, together with professional standards of planning and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated acumen and passion for technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of best-practice IT governance e.g., ITIL.
