About The Role
Revolut Australia is looking for a highly experienced and strategic Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead and optimise our core operational functions, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with our overall business objectives.
Stepping into this leadership role, you'll oversee 4 key areas: outsourcing, banking and payment operations, technology (including info sec and cyber), and data, driving innovation and excellence within each domain.
You'll be a key member of our executive team, reporting directly to the CEO, and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operations. We're looking for a leader with a solid track record in building and scaling operations, particularly within the fintech or financial services sector.

What You'll Be Doing
Overseeing banking operations, technology strategy and implementation, data management and analytics, and complaints
Developing and executing a comprehensive outsourcing strategy that's compliant with relevant regulations and data security standards
Identifying and managing relationships with external vendors across various operational functions
Negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded
Leading all operational aspects of Revolut Australia's banking services and payment features, such as account opening, transaction processing, and lending operations
Managing relationships with banking partners, regulatory bodies (APRA), payment gateways, and other relevant financial service providers
Implementing robust controls and monitoring activities to mitigate potential risks, including fraud and security related to payment transactions
Ensuring compliance with KYC/AML regulations and payment industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS)
Leading and developing banking and payment operations teams
Driving digital transformation initiatives within the operations function, leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Ensuring appropriate information security and cyber-security controls are in place and effective
Overseeing the collection, storage, and analysis of operational data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement
Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor operational performance and identify areas for optimisation
Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., the Privacy Act 1988 in Australia) and data security best practices.
Leading, driving, and optimising complaint handling excellence and customer care for Revolut Australia's operations
What You'll Need
A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations management, technology, or a related field
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, with a significant focus on outsourcing, banking and payment operations, technology, and data
A proven track record of developing and implementing a comprehensive data management strategy to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for decision-making
Experience developing and implementing operational strategies that drive efficiency and growth, ideally within fintech or financial services
A deep understanding of banking and payment processing regulations and best practices in Australia, with exposure to international markets
Knowledge of technology infrastructure, software systems, and data management principles, including ERP systems and cloud technologies
Experience managing and negotiating contracts with external vendors and service providers, including international outsourcing arrangements
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach
Impeccable communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across our global workplace
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, ideally with exposure to rapid growth and scaling
Nice to have
A master's degree
Familiarity with the Australian business environment and regulatory landscape
