Dedicated Support Specialist

The department plays a pivotal role in education, supporting learning and development through various services and initiatives. It oversees future plans for education in Victoria and fosters key cross-sector collaboration.
As a system steward, the department provides critical support, guidance, oversight, and assurance across early childhood and school education systems.
In addition to direct provision of school education, the department manages 50 new early learning centres.
About the DivisionThe Assurance, Knowledge, and Executive Services division delivers expert advice and support to the department through diverse portfolio, advisory, and assurance services.
This division also supports the department's executives, ministers, and the Office of the Secretary (OOS), while managing Cabinet and Parliament processes.
About the RoleThis position is part of the Ministerial and Portfolio Services (MaPS) team, which coordinates high-quality advice delivery to our ministers and secretary.
The role assists each minister's office with efficient functioning as it relates to the department.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate briefing and correspondence workflows within ministerial offices and the Office of the Secretary, as well as between these offices and the department.
- Register and allocate correspondence, process briefings received by a ministerial office or the Office of the Secretary, and maintain accurate and complete records.
- Undertake front-of-house duties, including reception and answering incoming calls to ministerial offices.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in providing administrative support and customer-focused service in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Experience working in a government department or agency or similar context, along with experience working with briefings and correspondence, is desirable but not essential.
