Risk and Compliance Manager, Group and Corporate

About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced Risk and Compliance professional to support the development and implementation of group risk and compliance frameworks and systems. As a key member of our team, you'll provide risk and compliance support to Challenger's corporate functions, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the effective management of risk and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior stakeholders to provide expert guidance on risk management and compliance issues, ensuring a strong risk culture across the organization.
- Framework Development: Oversee the development and continuous improvement of risk frameworks and essential policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Risk Assessments and Assurance: Support risk workshops and control self-assessments to enhance risk management, and perform Line 2 assurance reviews to ensure the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.
- Board and Risk Committee Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for the Board, Group Risk Committee, and Executive Leadership team, leveraging data from diverse sources across Challenger.
- Risk Insights: Monitor and evaluate the external regulatory environment and emerging industry trends, providing actionable insights to inform risk management strategies and enhance the quality of reporting.
- Risk Initiatives: Implement CPS 230 requirements, including enhancing supplier risk governance and developing training and communications for risk culture initiatives.
- Regulatory Advice: Provide guidance on regulatory interactions and maintain the GRC system effectively, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
We're seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance professional with at least 3-5 years' experience in risk management, compliance, audit, or a similar advisory role within financial services. You'll possess a strong understanding of financial services laws and regulatory frameworks, as well as good knowledge of risk and compliance management practices and frameworks.
You'll be a strong communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and delivering best practice advice and guidance on risk and compliance matters. Your skills in data analysis and report writing will be essential in preparing detailed reports for the Board and Risk Committee.
A strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally to provide pragmatic, balanced advice will be highly valued in this role. Experience with GRC systems, such as Nasdaq BWise or RSA Archer, is highly desirable.
