People & Culture Coordinator

The Next Step is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to driving positive change and fostering a high-performing culture. We are seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to play a key role in coordinating essential operational people activities.
About the RoleThe People & Culture Coordinator will provide consistent and responsive business support on HR matters, ensuring our HR solutions and service delivery empower the business. This part-time role (3 days a week) involves managing day-to-day HR operations to deliver effective support across the organization while engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the HRIS and Payroll Officer to maintain up-to-date PC records and databases, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Assist in developing new processes, policies, and programs for People & Culture (PC) to meet organizational needs, including drafting policies and training relevant stakeholders for consistent application.
- Oversee the Learning & Development curriculum and associated systems to ensure effective delivery.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including coordination and onboarding.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and their implementation.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law, and use this knowledge to communicate policy changes for level 1 and 2 queries.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent judgment and a solutions-oriented approach to employee issues, PC projects, reporting, administration, and data management. Key qualifications include:
- A relevant tertiary degree in HR or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role or industry.
- WHS certification (preferred) with experience in coordinating WHS activities.
- Expertise in end-to-end recruitment processes and strong attention to detail in system administration.
- Proficiency in various systems, including HRIS and recruitment platforms, with essential experience in BambooHR.
