The role is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to fill this position, targeting a genuine occupational requirement.
- A culturally capable individual with expertise in cultural practices and protocols.
- One of the referees should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and coordination of the cultural unit.
- Develop and implement cultural programs and services that meet the needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Cultivate partnerships with community groups, organizations and stakeholders to enhance the cultural capabilities of the unit.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Significant experience working in a cultural capacity with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural rights and aspirations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
