Role Overview

The position of Auxiliary Firefighter plays a pivotal role in ensuring community safety and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team.
  • Promote community education activities to enhance public awareness and preparedness.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills, training courses, and QFES-provided programs.
  • Meet attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain station facilities and perform routine upkeep tasks.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of operational equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in incident reporting and general station administration.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment, adhere to legislative requirements, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and promote a safe workplace culture.

Qualifications: Employer's consent for incident response (where applicable), reasonable distance from auxiliary fire station, Australian Permanent Resident Status, C Class driver's licence.
