A Regional Leader Opportunity
The Greater Hume Shire Council seeks a visionary leader to drive performance and innovation across its services in a connected, growing region.

About the Region
Located in southern New South Wales, on the Victorian border, our shire is a rural area with welcoming towns and villages. The main centres include Culcairn, Henty, Holbrook, Jindera and Walla Walla. We play a key role in servicing productive rural industries of mixed farming enterprises, primarily grazing of beef, lamb and wool production, and grain production of wheat, oats barley and canola. Emerging industries such as boutique wine and olive oil also feature.

Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for guiding our organisation's workforce of around 180 people. You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and adaptability. Working closely with nine councillors, you will provide strategic advice and deliver on decisions that shape the future of towns and villages across the region.

About You
We are looking for a leader who understands the responsibilities of local government and can bring practical, forward-looking solutions to a diverse rural shire. You will need strong financial and organisational management skills, along with the ability to engage constructively with councillors and provide sound, balanced advice. Equally important is your capacity to build trust with staff, foster a positive workplace culture and represent us with confidence and credibility to government, business and the wider community.

Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in business, management or leadership, or equivalent relevant experience
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles, including oversight of teams, budgets and operational performance.
- Ability to work constructively with Councillors, community members and external stakeholders, providing clear and considered guidance.
