About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Meetings & Events Coordinator to join our Sales & Marketing team at Novotel Brisbane South Bank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of conference and event sales and coordination, including proposal preparation, contract management, and site inspections.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build your skills and expertise, working closely with our Director of Commercial & Guest Experience and the sales and marketing team. You will be responsible for achieving budget targets and ensuring client satisfaction through excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare conference proposals and contracts, covering venue, function, menu, and accommodation costs.
  • Coordinate the entire cycle of conference and events from enquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Co-ordinate and host familiarisation and site inspection activities, including follow-up in conjunction with the sales team.
  • Achieve budget targets relative to the conference and events department.
  • Assist in telemarketing for new clients and define their potential to the business.
  • Co-ordination and production of conference collateral material, in liaison with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Lead weekly Banquets Event Order meetings and co-ordinate between conferencing and other relevant departments to ensure preparations for conferences have been made.
Requirements
  • Experience in event management roles within a dynamic and busy environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in event management.
  • A creative flair and a natural ability to generate ideas to engage our guests.
  • Be comfortable designing collateral.
  • The ability to work within a team and build rapport with all departments in the business.
  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to effectively manage priorities.
  • Projects a professional image through presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to think on their feet and problem solve.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English on a business level; additional languages are a plus.
  • A high standard of grooming and presentation.
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia are a must. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided.
