About This Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA). As a key member of our Corporate Services and Infrastructure group, you will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and accountability for the planning, procurement, and delivery of a broad range of new build, expansion, and refurbishment capital projects across various Justice portfolios.
About the Business Unit
The CSBA is a critical business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, responsible for designing, procuring, building, and upgrading infrastructure needed to keep communities safe. This includes end-to-end project development, management, and delivery of new prisons, youth justice centers, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities, and public safety features.
About the Role
As the CEO of CSBA, you will be accountable for ensuring the effective delivery of a pipeline of capital projects across metropolitan, regional, and rural Victoria, achieving the best value-for-money outcomes for Victorians in accordance with time, budget, and quality standards. You will also be responsible for stakeholder engagement, particularly with CSBA's clients and industry partners.
About You
- A significant record of achievement in leadership, with a track record of success in overseeing the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrable experience in effectively managing commercial and financial risk across capital programs.
- Strategic understanding of and ability to keep abreast of emerging issues and risks that may impact the department's programs and service delivery.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence and provide authoritative advice at ministerial and senior executive levels.
- Highly developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with a track record in building and maintaining successful partnerships with a broad client base.
- Proven track record in leading high-performing multi-disciplinary teams and promoting a culture that is inclusive, encourages initiative and innovation, and strives for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated high-order conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to positively contribute to the senior executive team and develop innovative solutions to complex and/or sensitive issues.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications and experience in a leadership or executive role within a government agency or private sector organization.
- Strong understanding of the Victorian public sector and its policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and provide authoritative advice at senior levels.
