Role Overview
">As a Trade and Maintenance Specialist with the NSW Government, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities at Glen Innes Correctional Centre. This is an ongoing, full-time position that offers a competitive salary package.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in Construction/Building, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. As the Overseer, you will train and supervise inmates, while also conducting quality control inspections to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and supervise inmates in various trades and maintenance tasks
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reports on work completed and inmate performance
- Develop and implement training programs for inmates and staff
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective facility management
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum current Certificate III or greater in Construction/Building or similar related trades
- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes
- Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required
- General understanding of capabilities around the use of computers and electronic platforms to access relevant departmental programmes and applications

Salary Package
This is a full-time, ongoing position with a salary range of $88,178.00 per annum, plus incidental allowance, leave loading, and superannuation. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working arrangements, professional development opportunities, and access to employee assistance programs.
