About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled disputes lawyer to join our busy and dynamic construction disputes practice in Melbourne. This exciting opportunity will see you work on litigation and dispute resolution matters related to the construction and infrastructure industry in Victoria and interstate.

The ideal candidate will have solid dispute resolution experience, with carriage of matters, and the ability to engage with clients as well as work effectively within a team. You will also possess good advocacy skills, the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines, and the capacity to provide guidance, leadership, and mentoring to junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out complex dispute resolution work, including litigation and arbitration;
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice;
  • Work collaboratively with senior lawyers and other team members to achieve successful outcomes;
  • Manage multiple matters and competing deadlines while maintaining high-quality work standards;
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and mentoring to junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 2-5 years post-qualification experience as a disputes lawyer;
  • Excellent technical and legal knowledge, with a strong focus on dispute resolution;
  • Superior drafting ability and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own.
