Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an HSE Specialist. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our projects and personnel.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on HSE matters, developing and implementing HSE plans, conducting regular audits and inspections, and investigating incidents and near misses.

Your primary objective will be to identify and mitigate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and promote a culture of safety across all project sites.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, business lines, and regulatory bodies, to drive HSE excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide HSE Management: Ensure alignment with company and project objectives, develop and deliver comprehensive reports and data, update management on HSE challenges and achievements.
  • Develop and Implement HSE Plans: Identify and promote opportunities for HSE performance improvement on the project, conduct regular contractor HSE audits and inspections, and ensure divisional HSE requirements are widely and consistently understood and implemented.
  • Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations, provide detailed reports and recommendations, and facilitate HSE training programs and workshops for project personnel.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams: Develop and implement risk assessments and mitigation strategies, act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and clients on HSE matters, and ensure effective communication and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: In a relevant field of study, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Work-Related Experience: A minimum of six years* of relevant experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten years* if non-degreed.
  • Technical Knowledge: Job site-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job, including applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
