Lead Civil Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Civil Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in civil engineering, who is passionate about innovation and collaboration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert civil engineering guidance and oversight across our operational sites and project developments. This includes leading the development and maintenance of engineering standards, technical guidelines, and specifications that ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.

You will also contribute to resolving complex performance issues and implementing asset modifications through structured engineering methodologies and risk-informed decision-making. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting new energy projects aligned with our Energy Hubs vision, defining civil requirements, reviewing engineering deliverables, and ensuring all aspects of project execution meet regulatory, safety, and performance benchmarks.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (essential)
  • Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia (essential)
  • Eligible for Professional Engineering certification e.g. CPEng (highly-preferred).
  • Proven experience in energy generation, infrastructure, or heavy industry environments.
  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge in areas such as dams, pumped hydro, earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete, and steel structures.
  • Solid understanding of engineering processes, asset management principles, and project delivery methodologies.
