We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Horticulture Strategist to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive real impact for Australian horticulture growers and help shape the future of the industry.

Job Description

The Chief Horticulture Strategist will lead the strategic advice and consultation with industry partners, helping drive innovation and growth in the horticulture sector. This will involve working closely with growers, advice panels, and peak industry bodies to develop R&D and Marketing investment plans that meet the needs of the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of skilled industry service professionals by building team capability through coaching and development.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive collaboration, strengthen teamwork, and manage key industry relationships.
  • Engage with growers, advice panels, and peak industry bodies to develop R&D and Marketing investment plans.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years' experience leading a team in commercial customer management, supply chain, stakeholder management or similar role.
  • Knowledge and experience within horticulture, food or agriculture industries.
  • A strong subject matter expert with a broad knowledge of systems and standards applied to the horticulture/rural/agriculture industry.
  • A collaborative people management style, with proven success in coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication skills and high levels of oral and written capability.
Salary and Benefits
