About the Role

We are seeking a Relief Youth Worker to join our team at Y Schools Queensland Brisbane South Junior Campus. As a Relief Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the planning, delivery, and enhancement of academic learning, wellbeing, and vocational programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program to meet student wellbeing needs and attendance targets.
  • Plan and lead wellbeing programs for students.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students.
  • Form intentional relationships with young people to identify and address their strengths, passions, interests, and unmet needs.
  • Support students to know success.
Requirements
  • Hold a Certificate III or above in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant qualification.
  • Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies.
  • Commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach.
