Youth Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Relief Youth Worker to join our team at Y Schools Queensland Brisbane South Junior Campus. As a Relief Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the planning, delivery, and enhancement of academic learning, wellbeing, and vocational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program to meet student wellbeing needs and attendance targets.
- Plan and lead wellbeing programs for students.
- Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students.
- Form intentional relationships with young people to identify and address their strengths, passions, interests, and unmet needs.
- Support students to know success.
Requirements
- Hold a Certificate III or above in Youth Work, Community Services, or other relevant qualification.
- Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies.
- Commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach.
