Job Title: Warehouse Optimization Specialist

About the Role

The Warehouse Optimization Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless warehouse operations. This key position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, delivering high-level stock control support through efficient execution of receipting, stocktakes, cycle counts, stock adjustments, and credit returns.

This specialist also manages damaged goods, order verification, out-of-stock and aged stock reporting, loss prevention initiatives, and the optimization of product location accuracy to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate inventory processes, including stock receipting, cycle counts, stocktakes, adjustments, and returns
  • Perform root cause analysis of stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Provide regular reporting and maintain accurate records using a mainframe system
  • Maintain stock integrity and visibility while minimizing product loss
  • Develop and maintain procedures during system downtime and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer KPIs are achieved
Requirements
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing or transport environments
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and experience using RF and warehousing systems
  • Knowledge of inventory best practices and reconciliation processes
  • Proven ability to make informed decisions and work effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A passion for safety, with a proactive approach to WHS
