Empower a Young Life
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the life of a young individual with permanent blindness and developmental delay.
The participant requires a dedicated female support worker who can provide consistent emotional support, build trust, and encourage social confidence.
You will work one-on-one with the participant, assisting with toileting and showering, supporting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and participating in day program and community access.
Your duties will include taking the participant to youth centres, leisure venues, grocery stores, and other community outings. You will also assist with life skills such as ordering food, catching public transport, and shopping.
This is a unique role that offers many rewards, including:
- A consistent 20-hour per week schedule
- A guaranteed pay increase after 4 months
- The opportunity to transition into casual or part-time employment in future
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bubbly, empathetic, and gentle nature
- A driver's licence and own vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening
- First aid certification
- Public liability + indemnity insurance
- Training modules
