About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as Team Leader, driving excellence in animal care and research support.

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to lead a skilled team, providing technical expertise and guidance to researchers across various disciplines. You will be responsible for ensuring that all experimental activities align with ethical standards and quality assurance protocols.

You will collaborate closely with research groups, promoting innovation and fostering meaningful partnerships. Your leadership skills will shape services that meet the needs of both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of animal care technicians, providing mentorship and support for professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with ethically approved research protocols and quality assurance standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with researchers, supporting their objectives through outstanding technical services.
  • Promote health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across the team.
  • Design and deliver training programs, improving operating procedures and workflows.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A proven track record of experience working in a biomedical research environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, building effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, successfully managing small teams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance and quality issues impacting biomedical research environments.
  • Experience in Health, Safety, and Welfare compliance and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, rules, and procedures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, producing high-quality documents and reports.
