About the Role

• Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide high-level advisory support to operational leaders, focusing on integrated approaches to maintaining workplace health and safety standards.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems, ensuring alignment with internal governance and statutory requirements.
• Design and deliver internal WHS training courses, promoting a culture of safety awareness and competence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Partner, act as a trusted advisor to nominated operational leaders, supporting the management of operational risk by:

• Offering relevant, sound, and timely HSE advice to inform business decisions.
• Conducting workplace assessments, undertaking audits, and participating in internal investigations to identify and mitigate risks.
• Analyzing, validating, and reporting HSE statistical data to meet internal governance and statutory requirements.
• Participating in site meetings and planning activities, focusing on HSE and related matters, including initiatives for continuous improvement and sustainable solutions.
• Delivering internal WHS training courses and monitoring training needs and competencies, in conjunction with the HSEQ Training Specialist.
• Monitoring issues resolution and corrective action, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management.
• Supporting the development, review, and communication of HSE-related policy, standards, procedures, and associated documentation.
• Developing valued relationships with regulators and other interested parties to facilitate the maintenance of HSE certifications and Self-Insurance accreditation (where applicable).
• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to operational activities involving workplace health and safety-related issues.
• Supporting the development and maintenance of broader HSE strategic initiatives and programs, including sustainability projects.
• Providing initial advice for the management of work injury claims and return-to-work processes, in conjunction with the National EH&PI Manager.

What You'll Bring

• A sound understanding of WHS legislation and its application in a dynamic business environment.
• An understanding of environmental legislation and its relevance to workplace health and safety.
• Management systems audit qualification, with experience in conducting audits and assessments.
• Demonstrable evidence of preparing and delivering compliance reports to senior leaders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
• Demonstrated evidence of assessing risk and applying appropriate mitigation strategies to minimize workplace hazards.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a team-oriented mindset, with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
