The Role
- Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to operational leaders on health, safety, and environmental matters, ensuring a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
- Conduct thorough workplace assessments, audits, and investigations to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain a robust health, safety, and environmental management system.
- Design and deliver internal training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills in health, safety, and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing timely and sound advice on health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and certification requirements are met.
- Monitor and analyze health, safety, and environmental statistical data to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in site meetings and planning activities to ensure health, safety, and environmental considerations are integrated into operational activities.
- Support the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies, standards, and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in health, safety, and environmental management, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
