Senior HSE Advisor

This role will be based at our Berri Estates Winery, the largest grape processing winery in the Southern Hemisphere, crushing hundreds of thousands of tonnes each vintage. We offer a DIDO arrangement for this position.

This is a key role in our organization, responsible for prioritizing personal and direct-report workloads to optimize delivery of outcomes. The successful candidate will provide high-level advisory support for the delivery of an effective, integrated approach to maintaining workplace health & safety compliance in accordance with applicable legislative, certification, accreditation, and internal governance requirements.

The role will also involve supporting the implementation and maintenance of environment management system requirements, delivering internal WHS training courses, and conducting workplace assessments, audits, and investigations.

• Provide relevant, sound, and timely HSE advice to operational leaders
• Conduct workplace assessments, undertake audits, and participate in internal investigations
• Analyze, validate, and report HSE statistical data to meet internal governance and statutory requirements
• Participate in site meetings and planning activities involving HSE and related matters
• Deliver internal WHS training courses and monitor training needs and competencies
• Monitor issues resolution and corrective action
• Support the development, review, and communication of HSE-related policy, standards, procedures, and associated documentation
• Develop valued relationships with regulators and other interested parties to facilitate the maintenance of HSE certifications and Self-Insurance accreditation
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to operational activities involving workplace health & safety-related issues
• Support the development and maintenance of broader HSE strategic initiatives and programs, including sustainability projects
• Provide initial advice for the management of work injury claims and return-to-work processes

• A sound understanding of WHS legislation
• An understanding of environmental legislation
• Management systems audit qualification
• Demonstrable evidence in the preparation and delivery of compliance reports to senior leaders
• Demonstrated evidence in the assessment of risk and application of appropriate mitigation strategies
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a team-oriented mindset
