This role is for a skilled Cook to join our team at an expanding restaurant. You will be responsible for cooking a variety of dishes, including menu items and specials. Your tasks will consist of:
- Examining food to ensure quality and presentation.
- Cooking dishes from the menu and on pans with guidance from the head chef.
- Using different methods of cooking such as tandoori cooking, frying, steaming, boiling, and roasting.
- Preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
- Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment and maintaining them in good working condition.
- Reporting to management if any maintenance is required.
- Maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Ordering raw materials from suppliers as per business needs.
- Reviewing the menu with the head chef and contributing to seasonal changes to the menu.
- Following and maintaining all OH&SC requirements for safe kitchen operations.
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas and kitchen equipment.
- Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
- Assisting with the ordering of supplies.
- Ensuring safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen.
