About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Soil Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed soil surveys, including soil sampling, mapping, and classification according to relevant standards.
  • Interpret and analyze soil properties such as texture, structure, pH, salinity, nutrient levels, and organic matter content.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to assess potential impacts of mining, renewable energy, roads, and rail activities on soil health, erosion, and land degradation.
  • Design site-specific soil management, soil amelioration, and revegetation strategies to promote sustainable land use.
  • Provide technical leadership in soil science and environmental consulting, mentoring and training junior scientists.
Requirements
  • Professional qualification in environmental science or engineering or other relevant degree.
  • 10-15+ years' experience at a professional level, ideally in consulting.
  • Expertise in conducting detailed soil surveys and interpreting soil properties.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian environmental legislation, regulations, and guidelines related to soil and land management.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
