**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Regulatory Officer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering risk-based regulation activities and administrative decision making in a regulatory environment.

About the Role:

  • You will undertake regulatory activities and make recommendations that support the unit to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making.

  • You will provide recommendations informed by data, analysis of evidence and accurate interpretation of the legislation, as well as correspond with stakeholders on decisions and outcomes.

  • You will identify and respond to risk in the sector through application of risk-based decision making in accordance with the legislation, exercising powers, gathering evidence and escalating matters accordingly.

  • You will contribute to the implementation of effective record keeping practices, data quality assurance and modelling appropriate use of regulatory systems.

  • You will implement operational policy initiatives drawing on feedback, evaluation and data analysis to improve regulatory process and practice to ensure the department effectively meets obligations under relevant legislation.

  • You will provide quality advice and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders including parents, governing bodies of non-state schools, sector representative bodies, as well as the general public on different regulatory activities.

  • You will prepare accurate, well-written communication on range of matters relating to regulation including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions and recommendations.
