Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Officer to join our team.

This is a permanent full-time role that requires a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who can contribute to the regulatory functions and services that support the regulation of accreditation and eligibility for government funding of non-state schools in Queensland.

The ideal candidate will have strong regulatory skills and/or legal experience, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake risk-based regulation activities and make recommendations to support the unit's functions under the legislation.
  • Provide recommendations informed by data analysis and accurate interpretation of the legislation, as well as corresponding with stakeholders on decisions and outcomes.
  • Identify and respond to risk in the sector through application of risk-based decision making, exercising powers, gathering evidence and escalating matters accordingly.
  • Contribute to effective record keeping practices, data quality assurance and modelling appropriate use of regulatory systems.
  • Implement operational policy initiatives drawing on feedback, evaluation and data analysis to improve regulatory process and practice.
  • Provide quality advice and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, including parents, governing bodies of non-state schools, sector representative bodies and the general public.
  • Prepare accurate, well-written communication on range of matters relating to regulation, including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions and recommendations.

About You

You will be highly organised, able to navigate complex issues and have highly developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills.
