Regulatory Leadership Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced regulatory professional to join our team as a Senior Regulatory Officer.

As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance are met across Queensland’s early childhood education and care (ECEC) services.

You will be responsible for conducting investigations and guiding regulatory decisions that directly impact the wellbeing of children.

Working closely with colleagues within the Compliance Team, you will resolve complex matters and drive continuous improvement in the sector.

Within the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority's Regulating for Quality framework, you will apply contemporary, risk-based regulatory strategies to protect children, strengthen provider accountability, and foster community confidence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Regulatory Practice: Develop and maintain consistent, transparent, and robust regulatory practice in accordance with the Regulating for Quality Policy.
  • Provide Expert Advice: Offer recommendations informed by data, analysis of evidence, and accurate interpretation of the legislation.
  • Risk Management: Identify and respond to risk in the ECEC sector through application of risk-based decision making.
  • Operational Policy Initiatives: Implement operational policy initiatives to improve regulatory process and practice.
  • Record Keeping and Data Quality: Contribute to effective record keeping practices, data quality assurance, and modelling appropriate use of regulatory systems.
Requirements:
  • Investigative and Decision-Making Experience: Proven experience in investigative and decision-making roles.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, and communicate effectively.
  • ECEC Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ECEC legislation, standards, policies, and guidelines.
