The Graduate Environmental Compliance Officer will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and public health laws.
This position involves providing high-quality customer service, resolving problems through consultation and decision-making that aligns with Council values.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to tasks within designated timeframes and managing workloads to ensure timely completion.
- Developing a working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Local Government Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act, Contaminated Land Management Act, Boarding House Act, Swimming Pool Act, and Public Health Act.
- Assisting with evidence gathering, accurate note-taking, report writing, and presenting information.
- Collaborating with colleagues and supporting staff as needed.
- Reporting to the Team Leader of Environmental Compliance & Protection within the Planning Department.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or equivalent, as accredited by Environmental Health Australia, or nearing completion.
- A current C Class driver's license.
