Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

MMC Australia is a family-owned company with a history of providing top-notch engineering services since 1993. We operate in the Northern Territory and offer fabrication, welding, fitting, machining, wear lining, project, and personnel solutions for the mining, construction, oil, and gas sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Darwin. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, conducting diagnostic testing on machinery, setting up and operating metalworking machines, and more.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to understand job requirements.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing on machinery to ensure correct functionality.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate metalworking machines and equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal parts, tools, or sub-assemblies.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools, or sub-assemblies.

Requirements:

  • A certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work within a team.
  • A forklift license is desired but not required.
