Land Care Assistant Job Opportunity

This exciting role involves providing conservation and land care services to the community and key stakeholders. As a Land Care Assistant, you will be responsible for caring for, nurturing and maintaining landscapes within the community.

About The Role

The successful candidate will provide conservation and land care services to the YMCA and key community stakeholders. This includes undertaking various tasks such as:

  • Selecting and using personal protective equipment appropriate for various land care task types
  • Maintaining hedges, lawns, gardens and natural environments through weeding, hedging, mowing, watering and other basic conservation and horticultural activities
  • Undertaking employability training such as mentoring, coaching, and industry site visits
  • Reporting on conservation and program progress; this may include basic report writing, photograph collation and printing
  • Basic gardening, planning, design, construction and/or repair as required
  • Preparing and processing debris and waste materials
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for conservation, ecosystem management and the ability to work outdoors
  • Access to public transport and/or own vehicle
  • A First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Achievement of YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and completion of annual refresher training
