Job Overview:

The successful candidate will lead the transformation of 2nd Line Risk Assurance quality standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory changes and evolving risk management practices. They will re-engineer processes, develop methodologies, training, and quality frameworks for 2nd Line Risk Assurance, acting as a project manager to coordinate annual assurance testing and transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of 2nd Line Risk Assurance quality standards, aligning with regulatory changes and evolving risk management practices.
  • Re-engineer processes, develop methodologies, training, and quality frameworks for 2nd Line Risk Assurance.
  • Act as a project manager, coordinating annual assurance testing and transformation initiatives.
  • Perform independent reviews and evaluations along the change process, challenging the status quo.
  • Maintain updates to the Risk and Compliance Assurance Manual, ensuring tools and methods are fit for purpose.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable across the three lines of defence, up to Head-of level, to enhance risk frameworks and implementation.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Financial Services (assurance, risk & compliance, quality assurance, practice management, process optimisation, project management backgrounds).
  • Demonstrable ability to standardise and optimise controls effectively and efficiently.
  • Outstanding project coordination skills to plan, roll out, and drive change & transformation in a complex Tier-1 financial institution.
  • Potential leadership skills to recruit and manage your own team.
  • Relevant qualifications desirable (CA, CISA, CIA, FRM, MBA).
  • Technical aptitudes in data analytics, business intelligence, automation advantageous.
