We are seeking a passionate and community-minded leader to join our team.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of library services in Maribyrnong — ensuring our branch continues to deliver exceptional experiences that spark learning, creativity, and connection, all within a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a dedicated team, coaching and supporting them to grow and succeed.
- Develop a thriving community hub where people of all ages feel welcome, inspired, and connected.
- Play a key role in the planning process for the brand-new Yarraville Library.
- Drive our ambitious Library Strategic Plan, championing new ideas and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Work with the community to deliver creative programs and events, building meaningful partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Tertiary qualifications (or working toward) in librarianship, information management or a related field, with eligibility for ALIA associate membership.
- Proven experience leading, motivating, and coaching a team in a busy customer service environment.
- A talent for adapting service-wide strategies to meet the needs of the local community.
- Strong ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
- Confidence with collections, digital tools, and online resources to provide outstanding information services and reader support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, engaging people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
