Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Team Lead to oversee our finance department and lead the finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of financial principles, and proven experience in managing financial operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, developing and implementing financial policies, and providing strategic guidance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities And Duties
  • Financial Reporting
  • Prepare financial reports, including budgets and financial statements
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring
  • Conducting financial analysis and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements, including statutory obligations
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Team Management
  • Oversee day to day activities of the finance team
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure they meet deadlines, performance targets and development goals
  • Ensure that all tasks are undertaken by the finance team in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
  • Undertake regular supervision in accordance with ASU standard of performance
  • Strategic Planning
  • Assist in developing financial strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Analyse financial trends and projections to inform business decisions.
  • Support Branch Strategic Objectives and Process Improvement
  • Assist Branch Leadership with Project/ Program Management, reporting and tracking, cost optimization and where applicable implementation of business change plans.
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
  • Ensure the team is proficient in using financial software and tools.

SELECTION CRITERIA
  • CPA or CA Accreditation.
  • Generalist experience in a finance role encompassing, budgeting, analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the organisation ensuring finance and membership work aligns with the organisation's purpose.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with all levels of external contacts, management and staff
  • Ability to guide and support organizational change and development
  • Highly Developed computer skills.
  • Experience with Financial Packages essential.
  • Ability to provide advice to leaders and all levels of the business on financial key performance indicators.
  • Proven ability to use autonomy and initiative, performing consistently well under pressure and to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately deal with sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to trade unionism and commitment to actively supporting the Vision, mission and strategic objectives of the Branch.
