Lead Data Strategist

This exciting opportunity will see you spearhead the implementation of data strategy to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Strategist to join our team. As a key member of our analytics leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with our business objectives.

  • Create a strategic roadmap and program of work to ensure investment in analytics and reporting meets current and future business needs.
  • Drive adoption of analytics self-service reporting by collaborating with internal sponsors, business users, and technical support functions.
  • Act as an internal SME and owner for the Analytics and Reporting platforms.
  • Provide technical and thought leadership on data management best practices and software development life cycle (SDLC).

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of experience delivering value in an analytics leadership or BI role.
  • A strong understanding of information management best practice and SDLC.
  • Experience developing and implementing information strategy.
  • Advanced ability to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Experience mentoring users in the use of BI and Analytics solutions.
  • Working knowledge of the energy or utilities sector is highly advantageous.
  • Sound commercial acumen and understanding of business drivers.
  • Ability to provide technical direction and decision support.
