Job Title: Data Engineering Lead

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to drive the development and implementation of data-driven solutions. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand data access, reporting, and analysis requirements and develop innovative and efficient solutions.

This role requires a proven track record of delivering complex data projects, with expertise in data warehousing, ETL processes, and data visualization tools. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the delivery of critical services to the community.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data architectures and data warehouses
  • Design and build data pipelines using Talend/SSIS
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data access, reporting, and analysis requirements
  • Develop innovative and efficient solutions using data technologies and integration tools
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Create, build, deploy, and maintain data warehouse systems, including supporting technologies
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of database concepts, data warehousing principles, and technologies
  • Proven experience in data integration and development of data pipelines using technologies such as Talend/SSIS
  • Experience in managing visualization and data presentation tools and development of reports and dashboards
  • Sound knowledge of data governance, security protocols, and compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Relevant database certification (MSSQL) and ICT tertiary qualifications are desirable
