About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Inspector Detention Operations Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the security, safety, and welfare of detainees, contractors, visitors, and staff within our Immigration Detention Facilities (IDFs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and apply legislation, policy, and contractual obligations to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.
  • Command immigration detention operational activities, ensuring the safety and security of detainees and staff.
  • Work safely in an immigration detention environment, adhering to departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee immigration detention service delivery, including quality assurance and risk assessments.
  • Manage immigration detention logistics, intelligence activities, and facility operations.
Requirements
  • Effectively communicate, liaise, negotiate, and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate resilience and self-awareness, including knowledge of personal limitations and stress factors, working in a high-risk environment.
  • Be agile and flexible to new or evolving scenarios and changing priorities.
  • Display integrity and high ethical standards, with a commitment to building an inclusive workplace and fostering a positive, energetic, and supportive work culture.
