Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cook/Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering exceptional dishes, working efficiently under pressure, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus and estimate food and labor costs to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure menu items are prepared according to recipes, with a focus on presentation and flavor.
  • Develop and implement new ideas and recipes to keep our menu fresh and exciting.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and staff to plan events and functions, ensuring the kitchen is well-prepared.
  • Prepare specialty items, including Indian dishes and tandoori bread, to high standards.
  • Select, prepare, and cook vegetables, meat, poultry, and seafood for various menu items.
  • Produce a range of Indian-style snacks, such as samosas, pakoras, and veg rolls.
  • Prepare sauces, accompaniments, and soups to complement our dishes.
  • Present and portion food attractively, adding sauces and garnishes as needed.
  • Maintain kitchen premises and equipment, adhering to workplace hygiene procedures and regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members, demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Hospitality Management and/or Cert IV Commercial Cookery.
  • A minimum of two years' experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
  • Excellent knife skills and knowledge of modern and classical cooking techniques.
  • Advanced understanding of Indian culinary arts.
  • Expert multitasking ability and excellent communication skills.

Benefits and Compensation
