About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Education Support Officer to join our team. As an Education Support Officer, you will provide high-level classroom support and assistance to students in years 7 to 12.
The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience working with secondary students. They will also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with teachers to deliver assistance with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Support teachers in developing differentiated learning resources for students as directed.
- Implement effective strategies to support literacy and numeracy development of all students.
- Complete tasks as determined by the Head of Curriculum and classroom teachers to assist students and staff.
- Support students in developing a positive attitude towards improving their learning and guiding them in managing classroom expectations.
- Alert staff to any issues or concerns related to students.
- Provide feedback to develop and update student support plans.
- Establish collaborative working relationships with teachers to deliver assistance with minimal disruption.

About You:
- Hold qualifications relevant to the position, e.g., Certificate III or IV in Education Support.
- Have previous experience as an Education Support Officer, ideally supporting secondary students.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Have a passion for working with young people.
- Understand how young people of different ages learn, including those with additional learning needs.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Display high level organisational and planning skills.
- Be proficient in information and communication technology.
- Be able to show initiative and work as a team member.
